Gum Disease & PreventionWe emphasize prevention of dental disease. Dental disease can be prevented if we control bacterial and plaque activity on a daily basis. On any given day, the dental hygienist is available for oral health evaluations and to augment your regular home care with proper cleaning and instruction. Periodontal disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in the United States today. Since periodontal disease develops gradually over a period of months or even years, there are often no warning signs. Some of the most common symptoms include bleeding, red or swollen gums, loose teeth and bad breath. It's never too late to take care of your teeth and gum tissue. If indicated, non-surgical periodontal therapy is available to help return your gum tissue back to normal. Regularly scheduled examination and cleaning appointments are strongly suggested. Diagnosis is our most valuable tool in maintaining proper dental care. We will make a thorough evaluation of your existing and potential dental problems. We take only the necessary x-rays and examine your teeth for decay, gum, and bone disease. The resulting diagnosis will help us predict your future dental health. |
